At PMG, we spend a significant amount of time speaking with investors about the New Zealand commercial property market. While every investor's circumstances are different, many of the same questions consistently arise. What's really happening in the market? How are experienced investors responding to current conditions?Where are the opportunities and risks? And what role can commercial property play within a diversified investment portfolio?

These conversations have inspired the launch of Fundamentals by PMG, a new podcast that brings together the people, insights and perspectives shaping commercial property investment in New Zealand.

Why we created Fundamentals

The unlisted commercial property market generates no shortage of headlines, commentary and predictions. Yet investors are often looking for something more practical: informed discussion grounded in experience and real-world market activity.

Fundamentals was created to bridge that gap by creating a platform to share meaningful conversations. Featuring PMG leaders and industry experts, the podcast explores the trends, challenges and opportunities influencing the commercial property landscape. Each episode aims to provide listeners with greater context around market dynamics, investment fundamentals and the factors that drive long-term value.

Rather than focusing on short-term noise, the podcast explores the themes that matter most to investors and the wider property sector.

Episode One: Demystifying unlisted commercial property investment

True to the name, the first episode kicks off by exploring just that: the fundamentals. Featuring PMG CEO Scott McKenzie, Head of Investor Relationships Rory Diver, and Head of Marketing and Communications Tina Burns, the episode explores:

  • The current state of New Zealand's commercial property market
  • The key themes emerging from investor conversations
  • How market conditions are influencing investment decisions
  • PMG's approach to managing assets through the current cycle

The discussion provides a candid look at the issues investors are asking about most and offers practical insights from those working closely with both investors and commercial property assets every day.

Part of a broader investment conversation

At PMG, we believe informed investors make better decisions. While every investment journey is unique, access to relevant information and thoughtful discussion plays an important role in building confidence and understanding.

Fundamentals is another way for us to contribute to that conversation.

Whether you're an existing investor, considering commercial property for the first time, or simply interested in understanding the forces shaping New Zealand's property market, we hope you'll find value in the discussions ahead.
