Each year, the Brian Happy Award is presented to a Facilities Management professional that has applied their experience and knowledge to produce exceptional results within their organisation while displaying excellent personal qualities.
PMG’s Chief Executive Officer Scott McKenzie says the award is an honour that recognises Simi’s dedication, expertise, leadership and the exceptional customer service she delivers to PMG’s tenants, suppliers and team members, every day.
“PMG currently has over $500 million worth of commercial property assets under management across five unlisted property funds,” says McKenzie.
“Headed by Simi, our in-house Facilities Management team takes care of over 60 commercial properties, 200 tenants and more than 100 suppliers and contractors across New Zealand, which is no small feat.
“When Simi joined PMG in 2015, she was tasked with setting up an effective and customer-service focused facilities management function within PMG. Not only has she delivered over and above on this in the last five years, she has also built up a team around her that collectively is delivering on our aim to be a landlord of choice for our tenants.
“Her responsiveness and total commitment to our tenants this year saw Simi and her team ensure the upmost safety of our tenants and contractors during two COVID-19 lockdowns.”
Simi was the only woman to be nominated alongside some of the industry’s best. The finalists included David Curry from Auckland University of Technology, Mark Squire from Tamaki Health, Leon Hewertson from Precinct Properties and Gwynn Gilmour from Mackersy Property Limited.
“Congratulations to all of this years’ finalists at the FMANZ awards,” says McKenzie. “We couldn’t be prouder to see Simi recognised for all the work she does at PMG, and we’re grateful to have her as an integral part of the PMG team.”
