Partner story: McMillan Plumbing & Gas

At PMG, we believe the quality of our long-term partnerships enable us to enhance the value of our assets and achieve positive outcomes for our tenants and our investors. We have been partnering with MacMillan Plumbing and Gas for our properties across New Zealand for the past seven years. They shared more about their business and mission with us.

Rohan MacMillan, Director at MacMillan Plumbing and Gas, is proud to reflect on the family owned and operated business reaching 20 years.

Plumbing has been a significant part of the MacMillan family's history since the 1930s with Rohan's grandad one of only 20 people to have been given a National Life Member award by Master Plumbers. Now, after following both their father and grandad into plumbing, Rohan and his brother Angus have taken over the reins of the business. Rohan is based in Auckland while Angus is based in Christchurch and the ever-growing team of around 80 staff split across the country.

Due to a strong national footprint and relationship across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, the team's attention to detail, top notch staff and accreditation through the Master Plumbers Association have seen the business complete nearly 24,000 jobs to date.

Within this number of completed jobs include MacMillan's work with PMG over the last seven years.

Rohan says the team started working with PMG at a few of their Auckland City properties in 2015, and today, the team looks after day-to-day maintenance and big projects across the regions.

"We've really enjoyed working with PMG over the years, and seeing how the business has grown - both across the regions and in acquiring new buildings," says Rohan.

"Working with PMG feels like working with your wider family. They've been really easy to work with over the years and we consider the PMG team to be friends and colleagues. It's easy to work with good people!

"Recently, we've been working on more end of trip facilities for PMG to support their work in creating highly functional and modern workplaces. We're also supported the team ahead of securing new acquisitions by checking the plumbing and drainage."

PMG's Head of Facilities Management, Simi Mukherjee, says it's important to have contractors PMG can trust and this has become even more important as PMG has grown outside of Auckland.

"Rohan and his team have great attention to detail and workmanship. Having contractors we can trust is so important and we look forward to collaborating closely with the down-to-Earth team in the years to come as we continue on our mission to be a property partner of choice for our tenants," says Simi.
