As PMG continues to grow and evolve, we are increasingly focused on building the depth of leadership and capability required to support the next stage of our journey.
Over recent years, PMG has scaled its platform responsibly – growing funds under management, expanding our portfolio and continued strengthening our relationships with investors, tenants and partners across New Zealand. As we enter the next phase, our priority is ensuring the business has the leadership depth, specialist expertise and governance strength needed to support continued growth.
The following appointments reflect this important step forward for PMG. Together, they strengthen our ability to execute our long-term strategy, and to lead, manage and grow our portfolio with discipline and enhance outcomes for our investors and tenants.
Michael Holloway joined the PMG Group Board as an Independent Director in April 2026.
Michael brings more than 30 years’ professional property experience across New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is widely recognised for his leadership in the property investment sector, including as an award-winning property fund manager.
Over his career, Michael has held several senior property leadership roles - notably as General Manager Property Investment at Kiwi Property - and is currently Head of Strategic Property Advisory at Frequency, advising on complex property, investment and development matters. He also brings significant governance depth through a range of directorships and trustee roles, including independent director positions with Smith & Caughey Limited and Mount Wellington Trust Hotels, and as a Trustee of the Mount Wellington Charitable Trust.
Michael’s appointment reflects our continued focus on strong, independent governance. As we grow, maintaining the right balance of executive expertise and independent oversight is essential - supporting clear decision-making, robust risk management, and long-term alignment with investor outcomes.
With Michael’s appointment, Nigel Lowe will be stepping down from the Board to pursue other opportunities. We sincerely thank Nigel for his valued contribution and service over the past few years, and we’re pleased he will remain closely connected with the PMG team.
Tom Jamieson joined PMG as General Manager Property in May 2026.
Tom brings more than 18 years’ experience across commercial property, asset management and funds management in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Most recently, he led the commercial asset management function at Oyster Property Group, with responsibility for the strategic direction and performance oversight of its flagship Direct Property Fund.
Tom has worked closely with private and institutional investors across the full property lifecycle - from acquisition and due diligence through to asset optimisation and divestment. He brings deep, hands-on capability across leasing strategy, capital works delivery, ESG initiatives and stakeholder management, with a proven focus on delivering resilient income and long-term value.
Tom will take over from Susan Jamieson, who was seconded into the role and capably led the Property team alongside the People and Operations team over the past 18 months. Under Susan’s leadership, the team continued to demonstrate our Property Partner of Choice strategy in action.
As Tom steps into the role, Susan will transition back to Head of People and Operations, maintaining continuity in a function that remains critical to our people, performance and culture.
We welcomed Wayne Vargis in late 2025 as Head of Capital Partnerships for PMG, and leading a joint venture partnership with Tupu Angitu and Ōpepe Farm Trust.
Wayne brings a wealth of experience in institutional investment, strategic development and governance. He joined PMG after 14 years at Ngāi Tahu Whānui, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, where he led the largest organisational transformation since settlement. His return home to Tauranga also reflects a strong commitment to whānau.
Wayne’s background spans iwi-led investment, strategic development and kaupapa Māori governance. At Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, he established and led the Regional Investment Fund, guided the development of Ngāi Tahu’s intergenerational housing strategy, and helped deliver landmark projects, including Te Pā Tahuna, a $250m residential development in Queenstown. He also led the capital raise for Te Haumi Whakamana, Ngāi Tahu Property’s Crown Property Portfolio. Wayne serves on the Board of Ka Puta Ka Ora – Emerge Aotearoa, one of New Zealand’s largest community and social housing providers.
With academic credentials spanning engineering and business - including executive study through Stanford and an MBA (with distinction) - Wayne brings a rare combination of commercial rigour and purpose-led leadership.
In his role, Wayne works closely with institutional investors to strengthen relationships that support both investment success and intergenerational impact.
